More members of the Goyder family settled in WA and the recent CEO of Westfarmers Australia Richard Goyder is probably a great nephew of George Goyder. One of George Goyder’s sons took up land there in 1908. There is a Goyder Street in the Canberra suburb of Narrabundah, another in Katoomba in the Blue Mountains, and the main street of Corrigin in Western Australia is named Goyder Street. This was the first permanent white settlement in the northern part of what became the Northern Territory. This park was only opened in February 2016 to commemorate the landing of Goyder and his party at Darwin on 5th February 1869. There is a Goyder street in the Darwin suburb of Parap, another in Stuart Park and a Goyder Square in Palmerston, and Goyder Park on the Darwin waterfront. Interstate Goyder’s name is especially used in Darwin and the Northern Territory because of his surveying work there.

There is the Goyder Pavilion at the Show Grounds and the Goyder Highway in SA runs from Crystal Brook via Burra to Morgan and Monash in the Riverland.
